As this dire situation with COVID-19 continues, we hope all of you are well. Technically, Costa del Sol is still open to owners. However, there are some new actions to report with respect to managing our resort.
The State of Florida, as well as Broward County, remain in a state of emergency. Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach Counties have the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Florida.
All Costa del Sol amenities are closed. These measures are for the safety and well-being of the very few guests who might be on the premises, as well as for our staff.
In order to meet the CDC and other government mandates of social distancing and other guidelines, the pool, spa, coffee shop, and grill will be closed until further notice.
The front desk will have limited hours and will remain locked. If you have a need to speak with the front desk, we ask that you call from your room.
Maid service will be drastically reduced with only weekly cleaning. If you have a need for towels, please exchange them personally.
Janitorial service will be very limited.
As reported previously, beaches, shops, bars and restaurants in LBTS are all shut down. Some restaurants offer take-out food only.
Costa del Sol is technically open to owners, but only the core processes are still operating, as we are functioning on a very basic level.
The CDS mobile phone (954-829-4220) is another contact point for outside the resort during after-hours.
The advice from the Board of Directors, as well as all government agencies, is to stay home, isolate yourself and ride this out. There really is nothing to do in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea and South Florida, so why take the risk of travel and potentially spreading the virus to others?
Some hotels in South Florida have announced complete shutdowns, and the expectation (not confirmed at this point), is that Costa del Sol will be required to do so as well. We will keep you updated on that, if/when it happens.
Our best wishes of health and safety to you all.
