We hope that all of you are continuing to remain safe and healthy.

It was a stormy few days at Costa recently with Tropical Storm Eta passing through. With the exception of a lot of sand on the pool deck and in the pool, we sustained no damage to the property. Take a look at these photos showing 27 garbage pails of beach sand being removed from the pool alone on Tuesday morning!

This newsletter provides an update from the Costa del Sol Annual Meeting and the Board of Directors election held at the resort on November 10, 2020.

Board of Directors Election

At the Annual Meeting, the election was held and the quorum was met. There were five candidates who ran for the four open Board positions. The successful candidates were Dave Cornelison (one year term), Fred Glazier (one year term), Doug Rousell (two year term) and Tony Silva (two year term).

Following the Annual Meeting, the Board held its November meeting and the following board positions were determined.

Vice President, Dave Cornelison

Secretary, Tony Silva

Treasurer, Doug Rousell

Director, Fred Glazier



2021 Budget

The 2021 budget was approved with the annual maintenance fee and taxes totalling $758 per unit week, a $100 reduction over the 2020 amount.

You will be receiving the annual invoice shortly, first weeks 1–8 in November, and then weeks 9–52 in December. Please pay promptly, as the resort relies on these monies to support its operation.

Occupancy Forms

The recent occupancy letter together with the rental rates for 2021 were incorrect. Below you will find the corrected Rental Rates for 2021. Apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused.

 


 

 

 




Unit Sales

The recent special sales project has resulted in 22 king units and 13 queen units being sold for a total net income for the resort of $49,275. We encourage owners to promote the sale of Costa units.

Coronavirus Update

Presently, the number of COVID-19 cases in Florida continues to trend upwards. The Costa del Sol Board of Directors and management are following Federal, State, County, Town and Association guidelines that are being implemented to ensure the safety of our staff and owners.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently extended the existing "state of emergency" to January 2, 2021.

Beginning with week 47, a once-a-week unit cleaning will be available to owners/guests staying beyond one week. This cleaning will be scheduled with the occupant so that they can vacate their unit during the one hour cleaning therefore providing protection to both the staff cleaner and the occupant.

We will continue to monitor and re-evaluate the protocols and keep you informed of any changes to them. At this time the following restrictions remain unchanged:

 

  • All persons are required to wear masks in all enclosed/public areas, including the front office, elevators, coffee shop etc.

  • Everyone must follow CDC guidelines for social distancing – 6 feet of separation (except for members of the same family).

  • Only registered people in a unit will be permitted on the property – no outside visitors

  • No access to the following resort amenities: hot tub and sauna

  • Limit of 8 people in the pool (this represents 50% of the allowable limit) with a pool attendant present during operating hours. (8:00 am – 8:00 pm)

  • There are a limited number of pool chairs, and they will be placed to respect social distancing and cleaned when a user leaves the deck.

  • The barbecue is available from 9:00am–8:00pm. There is a sign-up sheet in the front office to permit access by one family at a time at the grill for 30 minutes. Staff will manage the access and clean the BBQ & utensils after each use.

  • No daily maid service – towel exchange upon request & garbage drop off on each floor or pick up by request

  • Coffee Shop (no coffee service or access to the sauna) & washrooms are open from 9:00am–5:00pm. No reserving of the coffee shop for gatherings.

  • Laundry room will be available daily from 8:00am–5:00pm with a sign-in sheet at the Front Desk.

Note: Depending upon possible new emergency orders from the State of Florida or Broward County, as well as respect of the protocols by owners and guests, Costa del Sol restrictions may be amended as necessary.
