RESORT REOPENING NOTICE
Dear Fellow Owners,
We hope that all of you are continuing to remain safe and healthy.
The Board is pleased to announce that the resort is now set to be re-opened on Saturday, June 13, 2020. The processes and protocols have been put in place following Federal, State, County, Town and CDS association guidelines with respect to the safety of our staff and owners. Please note that Florida remains under a state of emergency until July 7th.
Over the past several weeks, we have been preparing with great diligence for the reopening of the resort, including training of all staff members, as well as purchasing special equipment and supplies.
How is Costa prepared for reopening?
Staff has been trained on thorough cleaning procedures based on CDC guidelines. Protocols have been written for owner/guests and will be shared upon your arrival.
New equipment and supplies were needed for the sanitization processes, and they have been purchased. Your unit will be fully cleaned and disinfected for you to occupy upon check-in.
COVID-19 has resulted in the implementation of additional cleaning & disinfecting procedures to meet CDC and WHO guidelines. We have added individual unit supplies for you to use in cleaning and disinfecting areas of your rooms and patio. The staff will be maintaining the rest of the property. Due to the added cost of this cleaning and disinfecting, we will be instituting a $75 cleaning/disinfecting fee at check-in. The fee is a one-time charge for your stay. We intend to keep this fee in effect for as long as needed to protect the safety of you, others and the staff.
Due to continued state and local restrictions, there will be no off-the-street rentals permitted. We are opening for owners, owner's guests, RCI & Interval International Members only.
What will be different upon reopening?
All persons are required to wear face masks in all enclosed/public areas (including the front office, elevator etc.
Everyone must follow CDC guidelines for social distancing – 6 feet of separation (except for members of the same family).
Only registered owners, owner's guests, RCI & Interval International Members will be permitted on the property – no outside visitors.
No access to the following amenities - hot tub, barbecue grill, coffee shop and its washrooms, laundry room and outdoor showers
Limit of 11 people in the pool (this represents 50% of the allowable limit)
Pool hours reduced to 9:00am–5:00pm with attendant monitoring the deck
Limited number of poolside chairs, and they will be placed to respect social distancing and cleaned when a user leaves the deck
Elimination of daily maid service – towel exchange upon request and garbage drop off on each floor or pickup by request
Local Lauderdale-By-The-Sea restaurants and businesses are permitted to be open with reduced capacity. Many restaurants have placed a 5% surcharge on bills to help offset the additional costs of operating during the pandemic. Local parks are reopened with restrictions in place.
Beaches are now open to the public, and just yesterday, Broward County broadened its permitted beach activities allowing sunbathing and picnicking, but face masks must be worn.
We consulted with the association's legal counsel as these reopening plans were carefully decided upon. This remains a very complicated situation. It is the duty of the Board and the association to put the best possible plans in place to limit the spread of the virus and our potential liability. There is no blueprint for any of this, and adaptations will be made as the situation continues to evolve.
The Board of Directors is taking a cautious and thorough approach to re-opening for your safety and that of our staff. We ask that you be kind to staff members, as this is a challenging time for them also.
Please keep in mind that although the resort will reopen on June 13th, it is not the experience you are used to – and it will not be for some time as we navigate through the pandemic situation. We will carefully adapt as required in the coming weeks and months.
